Nothing to film
Your picture is the whole input. Most scenes swap in a new backdrop; Bring to Life keeps your own and simply moves it.
Still picture, moving scene
Photo to Video Effects
Photo to video effects take a still picture and give you back a short scene starring whoever is in it: your aunt floating above the kitchen floor, two cousins sharing a slow dance, a roommate turning to chrome. Hotel Lobby Video has 28 of them, each 4 credits for a 5 second take at 720p, ready in up to about 5 minutes.

How a scene is built
What photo to video effects actually do
Each effect is a short script that is already written: where the camera starts, what changes, what the air sounds like. Your picture supplies the cast. You do not type a prompt, film a second take or open an editing app; you choose the scene and the studio does the rest.
Behind every scene sits a ByteDance Seedance model (Seedance 2.0 Mini, 2.0 Fast, 2.0 and 2.5). It is asked to hold on to each face and haircut from your picture, and to the clothes as well, apart from Turning Metal, Disintegration, Outfit Switch, Zombie, Halloween Costume and 80s Home Video, which change the outfit on purpose. Raindance, Zombie, Gas Station, Slow Dance, Memorial Hug, Bring to Life, Halloween Costume, Dance, Bald Filter, 80s Home Video and Polaroid Hug ship with their own made-up music; the rest carry room sound and weather. No effect raps. When you want two faces trading bars at one mic, that lives in the AI rap generator.

These clips show the format. Other people made them with other tools, and each one is credited and linked to its post. They are not output from Hotel Lobby Video.
I have one selfie and only my phone. Can I still make a photo to video effect?
Yes. Open the page in your phone browser, add the selfie, choose a scene and press create. There is nothing to install, and the result is an MP4 you can post.
Do I pay a subscription to use the effects?
No. Each 5 second take at 720p on Seedance 2.0 Mini is 4 credits, and you can buy a one-time pack. You pay in credits at the moment you press create. The entry pack is 10 credits for $9.99, and a take that fails puts its credits back in your balance by itself.
Which scenes can I pick from?
All 28: Earth Zoom Out, Hug, Money Rain, Red Carpet, Fireworks, Live Concert, Turning Metal, Disintegration, Levitation, Angel Wings, Northern Lights, Bullet Time, Clones, Outfit Switch, Giants, Comic Book, Pizza Rain, Raindance, Zombie, Gas Station, Slow Dance, Memorial Hug, Bring to Life, Halloween Costume, Dance, Bald Filter, 80s Home Video and Polaroid Hug.
Can my partner and I be in the same effect?
Yes: a picture of each of you, or one picture of you together. Hug, Zombie, Slow Dance, Memorial Hug and Polaroid Hug will not run with just one person.
Is it fine to upload a picture of a friend?
Only if they agreed. Pictures of strangers, celebrities and other public figures are off limits.
