Duet Lip Sync With Your Own Song: Can Both of You Sing?

A duet lip sync with your own song needs two takes, not one. In a single Hotel Lobby Video take, the face on the left lip-syncs your recording and the face on the right is the backup, exactly like the clip that started the trend. So split the song: record part one with one of you on the left, part two with the faces swapped, then join both clips in any editor. Each take is billed separately; 12 seconds at 480p costs 6 credits.

That describes Hotel Lobby Video on October 4, 2026, on its default model, Wan 3.0. Both rap, where the two faces swap lines inside one take, works only with an AI-written rap, never with an uploaded song.

The two-take plan, step by step

  1. Choose two stretches of the song, one per singer. Each stretch lasts as long as the take: 5, 8, 10, 12 or 15 seconds on the Hotel Lobby stage.
  2. Add a portrait of each person and put the first singer on the left.
  3. Open Video & sound, select Your song and upload the track (MP3, WAV or M4A, any length). Slide the orange frame over the first stretch and press create.
  4. Once take one is ready, slide the orange frame to the second stretch. Tap “Hand the mic to the other one” under the video: the portraits change sides and take two starts with the new stretch. Swapping the portraits by hand and pressing Create does the same.
  5. Download both MP4s and line them up in CapCut, iMovie or whichever editor you use.

Two takes cost double: 12 credits for two 12-second takes at 480p. You pay as you create each one, and a failed take is refunded.

With one photo of both of you, the rule is the same: whoever is on the left in the photo sings.

One line, two singers

Both of you want the chorus? Leave the orange frame where it is and tap “Hand the mic to the other one” after the first take. You end up with the same stretch twice, each of you out front once, ready to post as a pair or back to back.

How the joined clip will look

  • Each take starts the routine from the top, so the join between parts is visible. Cutting on a beat hides it best.
  • Choose stretches where the vocal is clear, because the face in front lip-syncs to it.
  • Faces, moves and lip-sync shift a little from take to take, so the two parts will not match perfectly.
  • We have not published a test of this two-take method. It relies only on features the studio already has.

Pick the AI rap when the words matter more

If a rap about you two beats your own recording, switch to a Seedance model and leave Both rap on (it starts on): the AI writes a verse about your topic and both faces swap lines inside one take. On any stage, 12 seconds of AI rap on Seedance 2.0 Mini at 720p comes to 10 credits. Try the AI rap battle generator.

FAQ

Can my wife and I both lip-sync our wedding song in one video?

Not in one take. With your own song only the left face lip-syncs and the right face is the backup. Make two takes and swap the portraits so each of you gets a part, then join them.

I want the person on the right to sing. Do I start over?

No. Put that person on the left, or tap “Hand the mic to the other one” after a take: the portraits change sides and a new take begins.

How much of the song fits in one part?

One take’s worth: 5, 8, 10, 12 or 15 seconds on the Hotel Lobby stage. The upload itself can be any length; drag the orange frame to choose the stretch.

Does a voice memo from my phone count as a song?

Yes. Upload it as Your song (MP3, WAV or M4A) and the left face lip-syncs the stretch you select.

How much does a two-part duet cost?

Each take is billed on its own. 12 seconds at 480p is 6 credits, so two parts are 12. The smallest pack is 10 credits for $9.99.

Will the two parts match perfectly when I join them?

Not quite. The routine restarts in each take and faces vary slightly between takes. A cut on the beat makes the join feel intentional.
